// KLM places fleetwide signs order //

STG Aerospace has received a fleet-wide order from KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, the Netherlands’ national airline, for its innovative SafTGlo TR (Tritium Replacement) exit signs.

KLM will install the cost-saving signage on its fleet of 25 Boeing 737 aircraft, replacing existing radioactive, life-limited and expensive Tritium-based signs. SafTGlo TR signs, which are EASA-certified across all aircraft, use STG’s patented photoluminescent material and are not only safer with a lower initial cost, but also require no maintenance or testing.

Peter Stokes, chief executive of STG Aerospace, said: “We are pleased KLM has adopted the long-term cost-saving capability of SafTGlo technology. Our TR products significantly undercut the cost of traditional signs by eliminating maintenance and replacement costs.  Safety systems are critical but don’t have to be expensive – at a time when all operators are trying to keep costs low, a small investment can deliver long-term cost-savings.”

SafTGlo TR signs are available in a variety of styles and sizes, are easy to install and can be easily relocated to suit revised cabin configurations.
