Local company to be presented with its fourth Queen’s Award for Enterprise by Lord-Lieutenant of Norfolk
STG Aerospace, the Swaffham-based world leader in innovative aircraft lighting technologies, is looking forward to welcoming the Lord-Lieutenant of Norfolk, Richard Jewson, to its offices on Thursday 25th September for the formal presentation of a Queen’s Award for Enterprise.
STG Aerospace first learned that it was to receive its fourth such award in April of this year and has already attended a reception at Buckingham Palace held in July.
Queen’s Awards for Enterprise are granted in recognition of outstanding achievement by UK businesses in the categories of Innovation, International Trade and Sustainable Development. On this occasion, the award was made in the International Trade category in acknowledgement of STG Aerospace’s sustained growth in overseas earnings.
On the day, the Lord-Lieutenant and one of the county’s Deputy Lieutenants will be taken on a tour of the STG Aerospace facility before moving on to the Ecotech Centre where the formal citation will be read and the crystal award presented to Chief Executive, Nigel Duncan. After the presentation, invited guests will have the opportunity to climb to the viewing platform of the Ecotech Centre’s landmark wind turbine.
Mr Duncan commented: “This is obviously a great honour for us. We have long been committed to the development of innovative lighting technologies for the aviation industry and to receive a Queen’s Award for Enterprise for the fourth time is a hugely gratifying recognition of the dedication and hard work of everyone in the STG Aerospace team based here in Norfolk as well as in our other locations.”
