STG Aerospace, makers of the market leading saf-Tglo™ Photoluminescent (PL) Floorpath system, has announced that it has continued its relationship with Southwest Airlines. An extension of the original agreement from December 2011, allows for the saf-Tglo® system to be retrofitted on some of the Dallas-based airline’s fleet of Boeing 737-300s.

Installation will begin in 2013 as part of the airline’s new Evolve interior. saf-Tglo® first launched a Photoluminescent (PL) Floorpath marking system in 1995 and is the market leader in PL sales and product innovation. saf-Tglo® products are installed by airlines and OEMs worldwide.

Nigel Duncan, chief executive of STG Aerospace, said: “We’re delighted that Southwest Airlines has chosen saf-Tglo® for some of its Classic 737 fleet. We look forward to continuing to work with Southwest Airlines.”

saf-Tglo® PL floorpath marking systems ‘store’ and simultaneously emit light giving highly visible emergency exit guidance for up to 16 hours in darkness, after only a short period of ‘charging’ with normal cabin lighting. saf-Tglo® needs virtually no maintenance, saving airlines valuable time and money while offering a reliable, essential safety system.
