STG Aerospace has delivered its 8000th saf-Tglo™ aircraft kit, as part of a major order from Southwest Airlines.
The deal, made at the end of 2011, will see saf-Tglo™ ColorMatch retrofitted to the Dallas-based airline’s fleet during its normal maintenance schedule over the next few years. saf-Tglo™ first launched a photoluminescent (PL) floorpath marking system in 1995 and is the market leader in sales and product innovation. Its products are installed by airlines and OEMs worldwide.
Richard Moore, chief executive of STG Aerospace, said: “Reaching 8000 sales of saf-Tglo™ is an incredible milestone for STG Aerospace. The installation comes as part of the largest ever single order of saf-Tglo™. This milestone reinforces the message that we are the leading provider of PL technology on commercial aircraft and that operators recognise the cost-saving benefits of STG Aerospace’s products.”
saf-Tglo™ PL floorpath marking systems ‘store’ and simultaneously emit light giving highly visible emergency exit guidance for up to 16 hours in darkness, after only a short period of ‘charging’ with normal cabin lighting. The system uses STG Aerospace’s patented SuperSeal™ technology, which needs virtually no maintenance, saving airlines valuable time and money while offering a reliable, essential safety system.
