STG Aerospace

Aircraft cabin lighting specialists, STG Aerospace, is delighted to announce the appointment of Neil Thomas as Engineering Director.

A graduate in Electronic Engineering, a Chartered Engineer and a Chartered Manager, Neil joins the company having worked in airline cabin and avionics environments for more than 20 years, specialising in leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams and providing the technical interface to customers, including STC documentation and support.

As Sales Engineering Manager at Page Aerospace, Neil gained specific experience of cabin ceiling and sidewall fluorescent systems as well as LED-based accent lighting and exit signs. During the ten years he spent with Pascall Electronics, he also dealt with power supplies for passenger aircraft IFE and fileservers, subsequently expanding that business to include RF & Microwave programs enabling in-flight mobile phone and Wi-Fi use.

Neil has also worked in the passenger interface and seating environment where rugged reliable products are key to prevent user damage and improve aircraft despatch reliability. Due to the visibility of seat products to the airline and passenger, the quality and consistency of the LED backlighting as well as its luminance and colour match to other parts around it are critical.
Commenting on his new appointment, Neil said:
“I’m very much looking forward to making a real contribution to the future of STG Aerospace. The company has already established an excellent reputation as a great innovator and the future looks set to be an exciting one”.

Nigel Duncan, CEO of STG Aerospace, added:
“We’re delighted that Neil has joined STG Aerospace. His background, experience and skills will be a significant asset to us as we continue to pioneer new lighting technologies and build on our position as a key player in the aircraft cabin lighting market.”
