The Role

Accountable to the Material Controls Manager, with an indirect link the Quality Dept, to undertake work in connection with the inspection and issuing of raw material and finished goods at our Cwmbran site, South Wales.

A passion for stock accuracy and inter-departmental support is paramount.

Ensuring the movement of materials is carried out in a controlled and timely manner, whilst liaising with all dependant areas.

 

Key Outputs

This role’s key outputs for success are:

1.0 To carry out inspection of supplied parts and control the status and location of supplied non-conforming parts. The role is responsible for working in compliance with companies’ policies and procedures to identify and record issues. Product to be inspected using AQL sampling techniques

Requirements:

  • Ensure accurate and timely inspection of incoming parts and effective control of non-conforming parts.
  • Plan and supervise Supplier sample inspections and associated reporting.
  • Work closely with Supplier Quality Engineers and Suppliers on issues regarding quality of parts.
  • Reporting of Supplier PPM and Supplier sample status.
  • Verifying Electronic Components on goods inwards inspection.

 

2.0 To inspect raw material and finished goods to ensure fit form and function at all times. To support Supply Chain, Quality and Production departments by identifying failures efficiently.

To support the Material Control Manager by inspecting finished goods when required.

 

Requirement

  • Visual inspection of solder joints to IPC 610 standards.
  • Rework of SMT & PTH PCBA as required.
  • Test of PCBA to documented procedures
  • Inspection experience to ISO 9001 series standards.
  • Understanding of root cause analysis tools and data analysis.
  • To complete final inspection of products to approved standards.

 

3.0 To preform well in a busy and pressured environment. The role is varied and rewarding, whilst challenging at times.

  • To contribute towards identifying projects for cost reduction
  • Continually strive to improve working processes
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines in a fast paced, accountable team environment.
