The role reports to the Global Head of HR (in Dallas, Texas).

Main Duties & Responsibilities

 

Managing the UK HR function

Provide HR and general administrative support for the business, as well as basic HR advice to line managers to be delivered on-site as follows, as well as (not exhaustive):

  • Responsible for the employee lifecycle from recruitment and on-boarding of employees through to exiting of employees.
  • Supporting line managers on basic employee relations processes, such as disciplinary, grievance, capability and termination, providing guidance and ensuring processes are completed to mitigate risk to the business. (For more complex HR legal matters, an external lawyer will provide confidential counsel to the role holder).
  • Assisting line managers with their team’s development and contributing to overall company succession planning.
  • Undertake various HR administration tasks, such as coordinating training events and supporting Company-wide survey and action plans.
  • Creating and validating the monthly payroll summary for the Finance Department, ensuring all calculations are accurate, compliant with UK payroll regulations, and clearly documented for review. Must be able to effectively communicate payroll details and potential issues across teams, including US-based stakeholders, to facilitate timely decision-making.
  • Leading ad hoc HR projects, such as compiling documentation for pay reviews, as well as administering the annual discretionary Company Bonus Scheme and updating the Staff Handbook when appropriate. (A basic understanding of employment law and interest in its development is required).
  • Assisting the Head of Technical, Compliance & Quality on ad hoc health and safety administrative tasks.
  • Ensuring clear and concise communication of key HR and payroll-related updates across UK and US teams. The role requires the ability to adapt communication style for an international audience, balancing professional detail with clarity to support efficient decision-making.

 

Staff Wellbeing

Acting as an advocate and promoter for mental health and wellbeing throughout the business:

  • Provide an onsite presence for staff, acting as a Mental Health First Aider, to offer guidance and direct staff to appropriate support services.
  • Promoting, developing and supporting the company’s employee welfare initiatives, ensuring effective and consistent communication both on-site and electronically.
  • Leading our wellness Wednesday activities in collaboration with group-level HR.
  • Maintaining approachability as a core value, fostering a culture of open communication and trust with employees at all levels.

 

Key Experiences/Skills

  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to work proactively and independently to complete tasks and projects on time with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, underpinned by high emotional intelligence and empathy, with a focus on approachability and proactive communication.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly present HR and payroll-related insights to an international audience, including US-based teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a global/multi-region environment, ensuring professional and efficient communication across time zones (primarily between the UK and the US).
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including experience with data analysis, payroll reconciliation, and HR-related analytics. Familiarity with formulas such as VLOOKUP and pivot tables is preferred.
  • Prior experience in payroll processing or working closely with finance teams on payroll reconciliation is highly desirable.
  • A positive and professional approach, with the ability to maintain confidentiality and build trust within the organization.
