The Role

Accountable to Supply Chain Manager, this role will play a key part in supporting the Supply Chain team, including warehouse interaction, as well as a first point of call for all internal customers for general enquiries.

A passion for detail, a desire to lean/develop negotiation skills, being a ‘peoples’ person and an interest in manufacturing and BOM construction is essential for the success of the role and the department in general.

 

Key Outputs

This role’s key outputs for success are:

 

1.0 To critically analyse  weekly MRP reports with the outcome of (a) questioning the inventory quantity being reported and highlighting issues to senior buyers and (b) actioning the MRP report by ordering, cancelling or amending inventory requests. This ensures correct and accurate stock levels for manufacture.

Requirement

  • Keen eye for detail and accuracy
  • Monitor supplier performance, ensuring On Time Delivery.
  • Experience in understanding efficient materials flow/ BOMs.
  • Understanding inter-departmental co-dependencies such as Production

 

2.0 To maintain and develop supplier relationships in order to understand all areas of potential concerns such as capacity, quality, cost increases, business needs for both customer and supplier. An understanding of JIT would be advantageous.

Requirement

  • Effective communication skills both verbally and written
  • Effective negotiating skills ranging between internal and external stakeholders.
  • Flexibility in dealing with changing priorities  and ability to work under pressure
  • Management of personal KPI’s.


3.0 To perform well in a fast moving environment, constantly supporting all customers (internal and external). This requires an individual who is enthusiastic and tenacious.      

Well-developed team working experience is essential.

  • Support company requirements via indirect purchasing
  • Continually review the overall value offered by existing suppliers
  • Excellent time management essential
  • Maintaining best practices at all times
  • Team working is essential
  • Working towards CIPS qualification (preferable)
