Heads-Up technologies, STG’s parent company based in Texas, USA, offers a full range of lighting and cabin management solutions to the business aviation industry.

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities

The NPI Programme Management team manages development projects that deliver innovative solutions to our Airframer and Tier 1 aerospace customers, ensuring that customer requirements are met within agreed schedule and budgetary constraints.

The projects typically involve understanding and capturing customer requirements, developing solutions, IVVQ, productionisation, certification and entry into service support. There is extensive interaction with our customer’s Integrated Programme Teams, whilst working closely with STG internal stakeholders, including Engineering, Airworthiness, QA, production, supply chain and senior management.

The Junior Project Manager will work within the STG NPI Programme Management team, based at our facility in Cwmbran, UK. This is a development role offering an opportunity to develop your skills within a best-in-class organisation.

The successful candidate will support the NPI Programme Manager to lead internal project teams to meet delivery schedules, quality standards and financial controls from project award to final delivery by:

  • Developing project schedules and coordinating internal activities to ensure all tasks are progressing in line with the project requirements
  • Identifying and managing project risks, issues and opportunities to protect or improve project performance
  • Providing weekly status updates for milestone schedules, with cost and risk analysis summaries
  • Coordinate and assist with major customer milestone meetings (ITCM, PDR, CDR, FAI) and compile resulting minutes and action plans
  • Portraying customer expectations and requirements to the Engineering team to ensure alignment
  • Manage customer change requests and support proposals for schedule and cost related impacts
  • Initiate invoicing of project payments and follow-up on payment as required.

 

Essential Requirements

  • A team player who can effectively communicate and build relationships with teammates across multiple internal and with customers in a professional manner both written and verbally
  • Be self-driven, motivated and able to work independently with some oversight from senior team members
  • Be able to multitask and work well under pressure
  • Have great organizational skills with ability to work to deadlines
  • Be able to effectively problem solve while maintaining focus on business objectives
  • Proficient in all MS Office applications
  • Ability to travel, sometimes at short notice.

 

Desirable

  • BSc Degree in a STEM field or experience in a related commercial/military aerospace business
  • MS Project experience would be useful but not essential
  • Engineering or Project Management background. However, where required, guidance and training for the role holder’s professional growth will be provided.
