Senior Operator/Team Leader

Reporting to the Manufacturing Supervisor, the Senior Operator will take the lead in delivering process and documentation training for new members of the team as well as refresher training where recommended for existing staff. They will also play a key part in assisting Engineering teams with new builds and investigations. Working side by side with the operators, they will be the first point of contact in the event of any quality or assembly concerns raised by the team.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Deliver training to new members of staff in our processes and procedures within manufacturing.
• Mentor those who are on the learning curve.
• Take the lead on less frequent or more complex assembly tasks.
• Contribute to discussions and problem solving with departments outside of manufacturing – BU’s, Quality, Engineering.
• Act as first line contact for any issues that arise within production team

Essential Requirements

• Experience of low - medium volume, repetitive production processes in a mechanical and/or electronics assembly and test environment
• Experience in training both new and existing colleagues
• Capable of working with minimal supervision and delivering to expected standards and timescales
• Good understanding of health and safety requirements and their use within an assembly environment
• Flexibility in dealing with changing priorities

Desirable Requirements

• Experience of STG products, business processes and procedures.
• Ability to solder to J-STD, understanding IPC610 class 2 (&3)
• Experience of operating manual and automated test equipment
