The world’s first sustainable emergency floor path marking system
It’s what the industry has been asking for!
saf-Tglo® eco E1™ has just been launched at AIX 2024. It is an emergency exit marking system that delivers sustainability improvements across the product life cycle, without compromising passenger safety, performance, reliability, or aesthetics.
This product represents a modest, yet critical step, towards the aerospace industry’s calls for more eco-focused products to support its journey towards net zero by 2050. And it is a change OEMs and airlines can make immediately.
What are the key differences of saf-Tglo® eco E1™?
Recycled materials
The new plastic insert is produced using 80% post-consumer recycled waste and the track is made with 50% recycled polycarbonate.
No “forever plastics”
A new biodegradable additive within the track means it will biodegrade at end of life. STG has limited control of what happens to saf-Tglo® products at end of life. This biodegradable version means if eco E1™ is sent to landfill, it will breakdown.
Water based resin
It utilises a 100% water-based resin for the photoluminescent inserts, eliminating solvents and ensuring emission levels stay consistent through a tightly controlled manufacturing process.
Working with Ecologi
To support the launch of this new eco product STG is working with Ecologi to plant 5,000 trees. Ongoing for every length of saf-Tglo® eco E1™ sold, 1 tree will be planted. Ecologi is the UK’s leading all in one climate platform. A Certified B Corporation, founded in 2019, Ecologi enables businesses to calculate their carbon footprint and support high-quality climate action projects.
