ACC COLUMBIA selects STG Aerospace
Overview
ACC COLUMBIA Jet Service GmbH is a leading aircraft repair and maintenance provider for small, midsize and large business aircraft. Their maintenance facilities are at Hanover and Cologne/Bonn Airport.
Further supporting units are located in Erfurt, with an interior refurbishment shop that supports aircraft while in heavy base maintenance, and Wegberg, where they offer sheet metal works ranging from minor modifications up to huge structural repair.
Therefore, downtimes can be utilized to enhance the overall aircraft's functionality and appearance by refurbishing the complete interior including a cabin entertainment system and ADS-B out.
The Challenge
On behalf of their client, ACC COLUMBIA carried out such an upgrade to modernise and improve the interior of a Bombardier Challenger 850 aircraft, which included a new floor path marking system.
Being a VIP aircraft, it was important that the aesthetics of the cabin were optimised, and so our team worked closely with the ACC COLUMBIA team to get the best possible match of their carpet colour and pattern, for the photoluminescent path marking.
The key challenge for this project was the tight timescale - only 70 days were available to design and certify the new custom designed emergency floor path marking for ACC COLUMBIA's cabin upgrade.
Our in-house design, manufacturing and certification capability gave us the flexibility to deliver to this tight deadline and still meet our high levels of service excellence.
