STG Aerospace establishes long-term supply agreement with new airline Scoot

Scoot, backed by parent company Singapore Airlines, has ordered saf-Tglo™ ColorMatch for its initial fleet of four Boeing 777-200 aircraft, and has taken options to fit the product on all future aircraft. Launched in November 2011 and commencing operations in June 2012, the no-frills carrier will offer medium and long haul flights from Singapore Changi Airport.

Richard Moore, Chief Executive of STG Aerospace, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Scoot as a new customer. Through-life cost-savings with fast payback are vital to low-cost airlines; we believe that Scoot has recognised all the benefits that saf-Tglo™ can offer in both the short and long term.”

Campbell Wilson, Scoot’s CEO, said: “STG Aerospace’s saf-Tglo™ stood out amongst our options, offering great performance and through-life costs without compromising on design. We look forward to having them on-board Scoot’s aircraft!”

saf-Tglo™, a photoluminescent system, stores and simultaneously emits light, giving highly visible emergency exit guidance for up to 16 hours in darkness, after only a short period of charging with normal cabin lighting. saf-Tglo™ needs virtually no maintenance unlike traditional electrical systems, saving airlines valuable time and money while offering a reliable, essential safety system.
